Six of the members of the Ridgewood Baptist Varsity boys basketball team ventured to Bushnell, Illinois June 20th and 21st for the BP Shootout Tournament. This summer invitational tournament featured 16 teams mainly small public schools trying to improve their games for the coming basketball season. There were four pools with four teams in each pool, with the winners of each pool advancing to a championship tournament. Ridgewood won all of its pool games, making them 3-0 in pool play. In the semi-final game Ridgewood defeated Illini Bluffs (near Peoria) 46-40 to advance to the championship game. The Rams were defeated 49-44 in a hard fought championship game by Delevan. Congratulations on a good 4-1 tournament showing to the following team members ~ Seniors Ashton Arthur, Robby Lyons, Ethan McCammack, Zac Menard, Justin Penny and Junior Andrew Wherry. Way to go guys!!

Ridgewood is hoping and planning on offering additional language studies through Rosetta Stone. Spanish will still be offered in our regular curriculum in a normal classroom setting and would not be offered through Rosetta Stone; however, if a student wishes to learn an additional language, we are hoping to use Rosetta Stone to accomplish that purpose.
There would be an additional fee of between $150-350 to take this class. The more interest that is shown the less the fee will be for each student. Also, if there are enough students involved, we can offer an online course that could be done from any computer both here at school and at any home computer. If only a few are interested, we would be forced to use a single-desktop version at a home computer only.
Please see Dr. Senn in the school office if you are interested or have questions.
